La Crosse officials are considering another TIF District, this one on the city's south side.
Monday, members from the city planning department discussed the creation of a new tax incremental financing district.
The tax money would be used to pay for redevelopment projects in the community.
The new district would be located near East Avenue, just north of Ward Avenue. That's an area Western Technical College hopes a lot of its graduates will find work.
"Western is always very positive about TIF districts because it's a chance to grow the economy and this particular TIF district is manufacturing and we have a lot of programs in manufacturing, so it's opportunity for our grads some day to be part of the local area," said Joanne Sandvick from Western.
City officials say residents in the new district wouldn't see a change in how their property is assessed.
