With the holiday's fast approaching, the La Crosse Jaycees Toys for Tots program kicks off.
Donation barrels were delivered Friday to 70 locations around the La Crosse area, including the WKBT studios. The barrels will be out for the next month.
The Jaycees is asking for brand new or gently used toys for kids 12 and younger.
Every year, the program helps hundreds of local families have a happier holiday. "It's overwhelming when we see the families come in. It's a sense of relief, they have Christmas now, they have the toys for their kids, there's no stress, no worry, what am I going to do on Christmas day because I don't have anything for my kids. We have it all worked out for them," said Kelly Goyette from the Jaycees.
Donations will be accepted through December 7th. Families can start registering to receive toys starting November 7th.
