WEST SALEM, Wis. -

Cows and Cheese Curds alike are making their way to West Salem.

The Annual La Crosse Interstate Fair Starts Wednesday.

Crews are finishing set-up for the four day event that features a variety of food and exhibits. As always, it will be free admission and free parking.

And like last year, organizers are preparing for a hot weekend.

New this year, organizers are hosting a food collection drive to help the Hunger Task Force. "We'll be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items on Friday and Saturday, but we'll also accept them for the duration of the fair, just bring them to the expo building and we'll collect them for you," said Marla Stello from the fair.

Gates open at noon Wednesday at the fairgrounds on County Road M, just north of Highway 16 in West Salem.
