LA CROSSE, WI (WKBT) -

Current and hopeful homeowners are taking a closer look at how to improve their places this weekend.

The Better Homes Expo offers homeowners advice about energy efficiency, renovations and do-it-yourself projects, among other things. The event featured seminars and hands-on demonstrations to visitors.  Experts provided insight into how to make homes more comfortable and durable.

"If someone's looking to buy a new house or to rent a house, the education that takes place here at the expo is going to give you insights of what to look for into that house, and provide guidance on the types of questions that you should ask,” said John Viner, project manager at Wisconsin Energy Center.

This is the first time La Crosse has hosted the Better Homes Expo.
