You have a chance to get an inside look at how a fire department works.
The La Crosse Fire Department is holding its 29th annual open house this weekend.
All of the fire trucks will be available for kids to explore, and they'll have a chance to meet firefighters.
There is also a fire safety house to walk through and a kitchen fire safety display.
The fire department looks forward to the chance to open its doors to the public. "We love having the public come in, this is a good opportunity for them if they want to see what the fire stations are all about and what the firefighters are like, they can come if they have questions on anything, they can come that day and bring them to us and we can help them out as best as we can, as I said the fire rigs are available for the kids to look at and climb up in the seat and sit behind the driver seat and see what it's like to be in the seat of a big rig," said Div. Chief Craig Snyder.
The open house is this Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at fire station number three which is located on the corner of Losey and Green Bay streets.
It is free and open to the public.
