La Crosse city officials say they'll be cracking down on property owners who don't shovel their sidewalks this winter.
The city has an ordinance that requires sidewalks to be clear a day after the snow stops falling.
If it's not done, the city will come and clear it for you. And that will cost you $2.50 per lineal foot.
City officials say La Crosse is a very walk friendly town and they'll be enforcing the ordinance this year. "Just the one warning on the first snowfall, we won't be doing anymore warnings for the rest of the year, if the walk does not get shoveled, the city will come and clear it," said Doug Kerns from the City Engineer Department.
The first inspection will start Thursday.
