La Crescent is gearing up for Applefest.
Crews were busy setting up in La Crescent Wednesday for the annual celebration which kicks off Thursday.
The fest will feature food and musical acts, as well as the King Apple Parade on Sunday. They are also bringing back rides from Mr. Ed's Magical Midways.
The fest's president says the community goes above and beyond to put on a fun event. "It's a celebration of our apple industry and the community and people just come down here and have a good time and socialize and its a pretty amazing thing to see," said Mary Lehrman.
The Applefest grounds are open Thursday starting at 4:00 p.m. Friday, there are events all day including the senior citizen lunch from 11 until 1:00 p.m. And Saturday starts bright and early with the Applefest 5k run.
