Iowa school district investigates alleged cheating
A Davenport school district is investigating alleged cheating at an elementary school after examining irregular standardized test scores.
The Davenport Community School District said Wednesday that officials had recorded a high percentage of erasures toward correct answers on reading and math portions of the 2013 Iowa Assessments at Madison Elementary School.
School officials say their investigation is inconclusive in determining the person or people behind the alleged cheating.
The Quad-City Times reports the scores have been tossed out, and the state will not count the school when reporting data for No Child Left Behind. The test will be re-administered at the end of April.
The district says it launched an investigation into the scores in late February.
