DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) -

An Illinois woman has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $124,000 from an eastern Iowa staffing agency where she once worked.

The Quad-City Times reports that 39-year-old Heather Quist, of Carbon Cliff, Ill., pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of first-degree theft. Assistant Scott County Attorney Rob Cusack says Quist faces up to 10 years in prison on each of those counts when she's sentenced Dec. 26.

Prosecutors say that while Quist was working at Chenhall's Staffing in Davenport, she issued company checks to herself without authorization, forging the name of the company's owner. Police say she embezzled $124,813 from October 2010 to last December.

Quist could not be reached for comment Saturday.
