LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

Hundreds of bicyclists are peddling their way through La Crosse this weekend.

It's part of the 4th annual La Crosse Area Bicycle festival.

About 400 riders from 10 different states are taking part in four days of cycling. Events include historic tours, birding tours and races.

This year there is also a pedal and paddle ride, which features canoeing and kayaking.

Sunday was the Gravel Classic, which is a 56-mile road race, some of which on gravel back roads. "The uniqueness of it attracts people that do the road rides all the time, but the uniqueness of the gravel, it brings in kind of a new group, they kind of, all of them are adventurers," said Jeremiah Burish from the La Crosse Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

Another unique part about Sunday's ride is that it was free to competitors.
