BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WKBT) -

The Black River Falls man accused of killing his girlfriend on June 9 was bound over for trial on Thursday.

Michael Harmon, 36, appeared in Jackson County court for a preliminary hearing. He’s accused of shooting his girlfriend Angela Nelson.

Nelson was found shot to death in the bathtub of her Black River Falls residence. Harmon told police Nelson took the gun he was carrying and waved it in his face. He said he then struggled with Nelson to get it back, but the gun went off and Nelson died, the complaint states.

The medical examiner who performed the autopsy said evidence around the gun shot wound does not corroborate the statement that Nelson was shot at close range.

Harmon will be scheduled for an arraignment at a later date.
