Kids aspiring to be firefighters and police officers are getting up close and personal with their dream job this weekend.
Holmen's “Touch a Truck” event gave kids the chance to explore fire trucks, police cars, cranes and others on Saturday. From emergency trucks to construction vehicles, the whole family was able to sit behind the wheels and learn how they work. Experts were also on hand to answer questions and explain how the equipment helps out our community.
“It’s fun just seeing the kids have fun,” said Mike Brogan, director of Holmen Parks and Recreation. “It's a good family event for old and young. I think the parents enjoy it just as much as the kids.”
The event was free for participants, though guests were encouraged to drop of a canned food item to be donated to local food pantries.
