After being docked for five years, The Julia Belle Swain is looking for a makeover.
The boat docked at Riverside Park in La Crosse this weekend. Its boiler and genterators need to be replaced and the restoration could cost up to about $1.5 million. Some of the parts on the boat date back to the early 1900's when the boat was built.
The crew hopes new eqiupment will bring life to the historic boat.
"We're told there there is quite a bit of improvements on machinery in that 30 plus years. So we are looking to bring her up to modern standards," said Edward Glimmy, first mate of the Julia Belle Swain.
