WINONA, Minn. -

It's a chance for kids to learn that being healthy can also be fun.

Winona Health hosted a Healthy Kids Club, Step into Summer event in Winona on Saturday.

About 40 kids came out to go fishing, race boats and learn how fire engines work.

Organizers said the goal of the event is to give kids a taste of fun activities that are good for their health.

They said they hope the kids will take what they learn and put it into practice.

"That's the whole idea of the Healthy Kids Club is to get families and young children out and active and learn how easy and fun it is to be active. A lot of activities we try to promote and have at our event are activities that kids can do on their own with their families. How easy is it to go fishing with your family?" said event organizer Janel Miller.
