The La Crosse Habitat for Humanity is building two new homes in La Crosse and is seeking families to to fill them.
Saturday, the non profit started accepting applications from hopeful homeowners.
The selection process is based on a families need, income and their current living conditions.
More than 20 families have applied so far.
The non-profit builds plans to build four new homes in the next two years.
The program is way to help not only families, but the La Crosse Community as well.
"The city and some of the nonprofit and businesses all seem to be going, moving in the same direction to address substandard housing in La Crosse, and we are happy and privileged to be apart of that whole effort," said Tom Claflin, president of Habitat for Humanity in La Crosse.
The non profit is accepting applications until Oct. 5.
