The Great Rivers United Way kicked off its community campaign Thursday morning in La Crosse.

This year, United Way is hoping to raise $2,055,000 to help serve its 73 partner programs throughout the year. So far, they’re 45-percent towards their goal.

“We’re truly gratified with what the pacesetter companies have done,” said United Way campaign co-chair John Lyche. “They’ve gone above and beyond creative ways of raising money and making their employees feel a part of a community.”

Campaign co-chair Linda Lyche said large and small donations will make difference and help people in our community.

“Anything anyone can donate is a value because those small amounts put together make a great difference in our community,” Linda Lyche said. “We thank everyone who will participate, those who have participated. It’s paying it forward and we appreciate it.”
