LA CROSSE, Wis. -

Organizers of the Festival Foods Grandad Half Marathon want to help and pay tribute to the people affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.

During the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, May 3 and Saturday May 4, members of the community can buy blue silicone wristbands with the yellow words, "United We Run" and "Boston 2013" for $2 each. The proceeds will go to One Fund Boston, Inc, a charity established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino, to help victims of the bombings.

"The tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, 2013, have left a stain in our minds and a hole in our hearts," said Grandad Half Marathon coordinator Jessica Robey.

Before the start of the race, all participants will be asked to observe 15 seconds of silence to honor the people who have been affected by the tragedy.

The Health and Fitness Expo will be held at the Radisson Center in downtown La Crosse from 4- 9 p.m. on Friday, May 3 and from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 4.
