Governor Scott Walker talks budget in...

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker stopped in La Crosse Monday to explain some of his budget proposals.

Governor Walker attended the La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce monthly meeting.

According to the Governor, the infrastructure funding proposal will make transportation repairs a priority over the next two years. Walker also talked about the need to improve hiring practices across the state.

"We're going to have to do more to fill the workforce needs that we have, and I'm convinced that I can find, for anyone who's able to work, I can find work for them. We just have to put them in a position to be able to be enabled to work,” said Governor Walker.

Legislators are planning to vote on the Governor's budget proposal by July first.
