WABASHA, Minn. -

The Eastern Golden Eagle Working group has been awarded the 2013 Wings Across the Americas Research Management and Partnership Award from the U.S Forest Service.

Scott Mehus, Education Director and Golden Eagle Project Coordinator at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Minnesota, was honored as a member of the Working Group. He shared the honors with researchers from 20 institutions across the eastern United States and Canada.

The Eastern Golden Eagle Working Group was recognized for its international, collaborative research and monitoring work, which helped advance the conservation status of golden eagles in eastern North America. The Golden Eagle Project has tracked the presence of golden eagles in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
