A 3-year-old girl was found alive after spending 11 days lost in a Siberian forest.

The girl survived by eating wild berries and drinking river water. She also has the family dog to thank for her survival, according to the Siberian Times.

The dog stayed by the girl's side the entire time, only leaving her to finally summon help.

Karina Chikitova wandered away from her home in a remote village of the Sakha Republic on July 29. Her mother thinks Karina and the dog followed her father, who had left to go to his native village, according to the Daily Mail.

The area is one of the coldest on Earth, though temperatures were about 42 degrees overnight this time of year.

Karina stayed warm by hugging her dog and making "beds" in tall grasses, according to rescue crews.

Outside of a lot of bug bites and some scratches to her feet, Karina is doing amazingly well and suffered no serious injuries.
