As the last class of students at Roosevelt Elementary in La Crosse continue their studies, the district is figuring out what to do with the building.
Next year, all of the North Side Elementary School students will be at the new school that's under construction.
The district wants to work with the city and the school's neighbors to figure out the best thing to do with the building.
Nothing is set in stone, but a community survey produced a few ideas. "Things from let's make it a senior center, let's make it some sort of community center, let's do daycare there, let's sell it to the highest bidder for instance," said Superintendent Randy Nelson.
The district plans to have the building appraised in the next few weeks and have a solid plan to move forward by the end of the school year.
