Fall officially starts in just a few weeks and with it comes beautiful colors on the trees.
The State Department of Tourism heas releases its Fall Color Report online. Visitors can click on an interactive map to find out where foliage has started to change color and how far along the change is.
The La Crosse Area Convention and Visitors Bureau says the peak time in La Crosse is usually between October 10th and 20th. But with the dry weather it could come earlier.
The colors are not only a tourist draw, but a welcome sight for residents as well. "For many of us, it's our favorite season of the year cause the paint brush that mother nature uses to change the color of the leaves is nothing short of incredible," said La Crosse Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau Exec. Director Dave Clements.
The fall color report is available at travelwisconsin.com. The map has observations from more than 100 fall-color reporters across the state.
