One of the two men who escaped from the Black River Falls Correctional Center July 2012 pleaded guilty in federal court Thursday to a charge of a felon in possession of a firearm.

James Newman and James Misleveck walked away from the correctional center and fled to Florida and went on a crime spree. They allegedly kidnapped a woman at gunpoint and stole a shotgun and two cars.

Newman will be sentenced Friday, August 23 in federal court in Madison. He faces a maximum of ten years in prison for the charge.

Mislevek is spending 15 years in prison for having a stolen shotgun as a convicted felon. He pleaded guilty to the offense earlier this year.
