LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - A Western Technical College student has gone from meth addict to college graduate in the past 10 years.

Jordan Holter turned his life around with the help of 'Project Proven' and earned a degree in Industrial Electronics and Maintenance.

Now, he's also one of four recipients of the 2016 Wisconsin Job Honor Awards.

He says he wants to inspire others to take similar steps to find a job to stay on the right track.

"It made it all worth it. to be recognized from the lowest point of my life. To know that other people have seen me grow in ways I myself haven't seen," said Holter.

He received a check for $500 and an engraved crystal trophy.

He's currently working for Great Lakes Cheese.
