VERNON COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -

The Vernon County Crime Stoppers, along with the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a dog that was reported stolen.

The dog’s owner, an 82-year-old man told authorities it would make his day to reconnect with his "best friend."

On February 23 between 3-3:30 p.m. a small, black and white Shih Tzu-Pekinese dog was reported as stolen in the area of State Highway 35/Gantenbein Road north of De Soto. The dog has a white stripe down its back and belly and the tip of the tail is white.

Vernon County Sheriff’s Office says there was a suspicious car seen in the area at the time of the alleged theft. The owner of the dog is offering a reward for the safe return of the dog. Tipsters will also be eligible for a cash reward if enough information is provided to help solve this case.
