WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) -

Tomato lovers were able to taste plenty of the red fruit a Westby festival Sunday.

Deep Rooted organics in Westby hosted the first ever Tasty Festival Sunday afternoon.

The festival was a chance for those attending to taste a variety of locally grown organic tomatoes, as well as Deep Rooted's line of tomato products.

The event included live music, workshops, and greenhouse tours.

The owners said the festival is a way to thank the community while also highlighting the importance of buying local.

"A lot of people are just starting to find out about us, so we thought, what a great way to thank the people who have helped us along the way,” owner Tiffany Cade said.

"The best way to support local economies is buying local. So having that out here is the way to make a robust economy in our area is really important,” Jimmy Fackert said.

Deep Rooted expected up to 150 people to attend Sunday’s event.
