Full-time:

Creative Services Supervisor

WKBT is looking for the next leader of our award winning Creative Services Department. We value creative thinkers with the internal drive to continually innovate and produce high quality production. Previous management experience and/or leadership training is preferred.

Candidates must have:
• Strong attention to detail
• Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience concepting, writing, lighting, shooting and editing commercial and promotional videos for use on multiple broadcast and digital platforms
• Ability to direct on-camera talent
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Ability to do great work managing multiple projects under deadlines
• A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

Essential skills needed:
• Solid expertise with video cameras including broadcast quality and digital SLR
• Proficiency with Mac-based editing and effects software including Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Motion
• In-studio and on-location lighting proficiency
• Strong graphic design talent
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Experience creating digital promotions and advertisements using HTML5 a plus

News/Station Promotions Producer

WKBT New 8 is hiring a highly creative News/Station Promotions Producer. In addition to daily topical promotions, you will create high quality, memorable promotions designed to enhance our newscast and station image within our community. You must be able to meet daily deadlines and initiate long term planning. We want a strong team player who also has the skill set to work independently. You must have strong creative and topical writing skills as well as editing expertise with Final Cut Studio and/or Adobe Creative Suite. College degree or equivalent experience essential. Master Control Operator

WKBT-TV News 8 is seeking a full-time employee for Master Control Operator. Prior television production experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must be able to work independently. Duties include: Maintaining station logs, monitoring quality and accuracy of on-air broadcast, playback of recorded programming, responding to timing changes at a moment’s notice, taking accurate transmitter readings, recording and logging video feeds. This is an entry-level, full-time position with benefits. The position will include overnight, weekend and holiday shifts.

Candidates must have journalism related experience and/or relevant college classes.  Camera, editing and computer experience is a plus.  Hours per week range between 10-25 and you must have an excellent driving record.  This is an excellent entry level opportunity for someone willing to learn the multiple skills required to work behind the scenes in a busy, challenging and deadline driven newsroom.

WKBT News 8 is hiring a part-time Sports Photojournalist. We will train the right applicant to record and edit highlights for our nightly sportscasts. Hours per week range between 10-25. Most shifts occur in the late afternoon and evening. Must be available Friday nights along with some weekends and have an excellent driving record.
