LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) - A La Crosse man is charged with claiming to be a police officer and sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Authorities charged Brandon Adams, 30, on Friday with impersonating a peace officer, sexual intercourse with a child, and exposing his genitals, according to a criminal complaint.

Adams said the girl's parents confronted him in the parking lot of the Onalaska Burger King on April 28, after finding his dog tags in the girl's underwear drawer, the complaint said.

Adams was the manager of the Holmen Burger King and a co-worker of the girl. Adams was recently transferred to the Onalaska Burger King because of an investigation into his relationship with the 16-year-old.

Adams threatened to arrest the girl's father and showed a badge and handcuffs, according to the complaint. He had told Onalaska police officers that he was a Minnesota bail bondsman, the complaint said.

The complaint said Adams had been told not to contact the teen.

Adams had been sending sexually graphic text messages to the girl, and police caught him with her in his vehicle the next day, the complaint said.

The girl admitted to having unprotected sex with Adams, according to the complaint.
