LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

It a chance to help find a cure for cancer while inspiring hope for others.

That's the goal of the American Cancer Society's 'Relay for Life'. The relay took place at Logan High School Friday night. Cancer survivors and supporters are walking the track in an effort to raise awareness about cancer.

The relay is way to remember those who have lost the battle to cancer while honoring the people who have survived.

"Everybody knows someday touched by cancer and so our ultimate goal is to find a cure for cancer and not have to hear those words anymore and so that's why we're here," said Abby Leonhart, Relay for Life Specialist.

The relay has been going in La Crosse for more than 20 years.
