Community Members are breaking out into dance as part of a global movement to end violence against women.

Members of the Hmong Mutual Assistance Association gathered at City Hall in La Crosse to raise awareness for the campaign called "One Billion Rising".

It started out as a rally, but ended in the group surprising the crowd with a flash mob dance.

Advocates for the campaign say the event is more than just raising awareness to end violence.

"We're demanding that perpetrators take responsibility for what they've done and to do that we are flipping the shame from survivors and victims' to perpetrators", said Dorothy Her, member of the Hmong Mutual Assistance Association.

The campaign has reached more than 207 countries world-wide.
