LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

A newer way for students to get around town is marking its second year.

The seasonal route started as a way for college students to get around the city more easily, and to reduce parking around the campuses and surrounding neighborhoods. The route stops at the UWL and Western campuses every ten minutes during the day and every 20 minutes at night.

Nearly 7,000 students used the Circulator route in its debut year.

"We would like to expand it so it would go further into the residential areas and touch with Viterbo University as well. That all depends on funding,” said La Crosse Transit Manager Keith Lee.

All bus routes are free to students with an ID.
