LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

The New Year was welcomed a little early on Tuesday at the Children's Museum of La Crosse.

The museum held its annual "Countdown to Noon" event.

Visitors started making party hats and noise makers at ten this morning and then explored the museum.

Then everyone joined together for a loud countdown to Noon. Organizers said it was a great way for families to celebrate together.

"We've got a lot of things here at the museum," said Christina Knudsen, project director at the Children's Museum of La Crosse. "We just opened a new exhibit today. It's called 'I Play.' It's a way for families to come out and celebrate the new year."

The countdown ended with a massive bubble wrap stomp. This is the 14th year of the event.
