Redevelopment on two pieces of property in La Crosse has moved forward.
The first was the property north of what used to be known as Park Plaza on the pike between La Crosse and La Crescent.
The city's Economic Development Commission approved selling the land to Water One LLC out of La Crescent.
The company plans on developing the land into housing along the river.
The commission also heard an update on the progress of the redevelopment of the former Ross Furniture building in La Crosse.
The $25 million project will turn the 116-year-old downtown building into a boutique hotel.
The project is already $10 million over budget and Don Weber, owner of the building, said anymore delays would be costly.
“If you have a winter like last year, extreme cold, a lot of snow, it just your cost could probably go up you know 10-15 percent. It just takes a lot more work and time to do. So right now it's really critical to get this thing of the ground and get started,” said Weber.
Developers hope to open the hotel by next June.
