LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

An iconic home on Cass Street is one step closer to becoming a bed-and-breakfast.

The La Crosse City Council approved a conditional use permit for the building known as the "Castle on Cass" on Monday night.

The home is in negotiations to be bought by a pair of business owners, but the sale was contingent on getting a conditional use permit for the property.

Some neighbors of the "Castle on Cass" have shown some concerns about turning the home into a business and available parking in the area.

If the sale is finalized, the bed-and-breakfast could be open by next spring.
