TREMPEALEAU COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) -

A husband and wife from Camp Douglas were injured when their pickup truck crashed into a guardrail on I-94 Tuesday morning in Trempealeau County.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says Roy Gunn, 55, was driving westbound on I-94 at about 10:10 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle at mile marker 88 near Osseo.

He was transported to an Eau Claire hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

Gunn’s wife, 51-year-old Sylvia Gunn, was airlifted from the scene and transported to an Eau Claire hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In order to provide a safe landing zone for the Mayo Helicopter, I-94 was closed to westbound traffic for about 35 minutes.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the roadway appeared to be in good driving conditions at the time of the crash, but the CTH NN overpass bridge had glazed over with ice. The State Patrol wants to remind drivers to be alert for changing road conditions, which can be caused by the extreme cold temperatures, blowing snow or shaded areas on the road.
