LA CROSSE, Wis. -

It's a wet start for a seasonal farmer's market in downtown La Crosse. The Cameron Street Farmer's Market opened Friday for the first time this year.

Vendors braved the cold and set up shop for people to see what they have for sale.

Until about October, it's open every Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

And it's not just fruits and veggies. There's also a variety of plants, baked goods, meat, and flowers.

The market manager expects the variety to expand as the weather gets nicer. "Usually it takes about a month to really ramp up, we've got over 50 vendors on our roster for this year, and they'll be here when they have things to sell," said Nell Saunders-Scott.

New this year, customers will able to buy their goods with a debit card or food stamps.

The vendors are still training on the system so it may take a few weeks before it starts.
