LA CROSSE, WI -

It may be an off year for the Olympic games, but not for area Boys and Girls Clubs.

They are back at UW-La Crosse for the second annual club-wide Olympic games.

About 200 kids are running an obstacle course, hitting in a home run derby, and running around the track in a friendly competition between the clubs.

It's a way to get the kids outside and active, a lesson one participant is using to reach his future goals. "If you don't stay fit, you won't be able to follow your dreams of getting to the NFL or playing in the majors," said West Salem 6th grader Maxwell Schumacher.

He says he's been practicing all year for the homerun derby.
