The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse was awarded for what it does for area youth.
The organization was recognized Tuesday for its effort to promote health and education to children in our community.
In total, the club was awarded $4,000 to put towards its programs. It was all part of a collaboration between Heartland Fields and Quillin's Grocery.
Leaders from the Boys and Girl's Club say the money will go straight back to the children.
"The money will be used for our Adopt a Child program which is basically helping families in need with our membership fee, our activity fee. We don't turn any kid away," said Mike Desmond, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse.
The money will pay for 10 children's yearly membership costs.
