A 19-year-old South Beloit, Illinois, man died during an early-morning shooting Sunday, officials said.
Police named Ezekiel "Chucky" Villa, 20, as a suspect in the murder. Police said officers have probable cause to arrest him for first-degree intentional homicide.
Villa should be considered armed and dangerous. He is described as 5'10", 190 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes.
If you see Villa, you're asked to call 911 or contact the Beloit Police Department at 608-364-6801.
Beloit police responded to the 1200 block of Wisconsin Avenue just after 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired.
Officers found the 19-year-old suffering from life-threatening injuries and transported him to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a release.
Investigators said there was a party at the residence on Wisconsin Avenue at the time of the shooting with a number of people in attendance. The circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been determined.
Officials said there were many shots fired during the incident, but do not believe there were additional injuries.
Capt. William Tyler with the Beloit Police Department said the suspect or suspects are still at large.
"We're working through all of the standard investigative process, whether that includes search warrants or other activities, and then we'll see where that takes us over the next 12 to 24 hours," said Capt. Tyler.
Tyler said while there is a general concern for the public with any shooting, police believe this was a targeted situation and not a random act.
