A new audit shows finances are continuing to improve at Wisconsin State Fair Park.
The state Legislative Audit Bureau report released Tuesday found the park generated $918,000 more than it spent in the fiscal year that ended June 30.
It was the sixth year in a row in which the park brought in more money than it spent, and the audit says the park has now eliminated the long-term debt accumulated during in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
The audit says the park has taken steps to address some issues identified in previous audits.
Last year was the first year the park began internally managing operations of its ride and amusement area instead of hiring contractors. Its profit was less last year than in the two previous years.
