LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

La Crosse police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Check ‘N Go at the Shelby Mall on Mormon Coulee Road at about 10:45 a.m. Monday.

According to La Crosse Police Sergeant Randy Rank, a black man entered the store, showed a dark-colored semi-automatic handgun to the store manager and demanded money.

No one was hurt during the incident. Police said the suspect ran away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described at a black male with dread locks and facial hair in his mid-30s, 5'9"  to 6' tall and between 175 and 200 pounds. He was wearing an Air Jordan black sweatshirt, sunglasses, a black and red Chicago Bulls hat and black and white Air Jordan shoes.

"We're very concerned," Sgt. Rank said. "We did have one approximately a week ago at the Clark Station on the northside. That gentleman was taken into custody and was arrested, now we're another one on another part of town, you know kind of a quick type of crime in and out, getting away with cash."

La Croses police officers secured the scene while other officers began searching for the suspect, checking on other businesses and reviewing security cameras in the area. Police released two images of the suspect from video surveillance Monday afternoon.
