A record number of people participated in Sunday's Applefest parade.
There were more than 150 entries making the trip through La Crescent yesterday, including one from News 8.
Applefest also had its carnival back this year. Organizers say they weren't able to have it the past few years because of a scheduling conflict. The festival highlights the importance of the apple industry while also giving local businesses a boost.
"It brings in a lot of business to the area in a short period of time and people just really enjoy having this festival they enjoy the camaraderie and just spending time together,” said Mary Lehrman, president of Applefest.
Applefest marked its 65th anniversary over the weekend.
