LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

The La Crosse Rotary Club recognized the hard work of some of its members.

The nine area rotary clubs came together Tuesday for the annual Avenues of Service banquet at Western Technical College.

The banquet honors a number of service projects and several members within the club. That includes work done in the community fundraising events and awards for individual members.

Club leaders say the night was a way to say thank you to its chapters because without them the banquet wouldn't be possible.

“Rotary's moto is service above self. A lot of the clubs will have projects they're doing for people they may never even meet, or they've only met once, or people in the community they live with each day,” said the Assistant Governor of the Rotary District Brad Quarberg.

This was the Rotary Club's 25th year of holding the banquet.
