Altra Federal Credit Union hosts annual Easter egg hunt

Altra Federal Credit Union hosts...

ONALASKA, Wis. (WKBT) - Area kids were out celebrating Easter a day early.

Altra Federal Credit Union hosted its 46th annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday morning at its offices in Onalaska.

However, rainy weather made it impossible for organizers to hide eggs so instead, they gave out thousands of chocolate eggs to all of the participating kids.

The rest of the event was moved indoors where kids got a chance to take a picture with the Easter bunny, eat some snacks and meet local mascots including Shiver from the coulee region chill.

Organizers say the area tradition gives families the chance to celebrate the holiday together.

"I think it's important for families to get together and celebrate this holiday and enjoy themselves. We've always felt like this was a great community event for people to come to," said Cheryl Dutton, vice president of marketing at Altra Federal Credit Union.

Over 50 volunteers from the credit union helped put on Saturday's event.
