MERRILL, Wis. (AP) -

Prosecutors say a life insurance policy and an extramarital affair, as well as other evidence, led to charges against a central Wisconsin man in the slaying of his wife.

Forty-nine-year-old Mark Bucki is charged in Lincoln County with first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and strangulation and suffocation in the death of his 48-year-old wife, Anita Bucki.

Lincoln County District Attorney Don Dunphy tells the Wausau Daily Herald that Bucki admitted his wife had asked him to split the proceeds of a $150,000 life insurance policy with their son if anything happened to her. Dunphy says Bucki also admitted he was having an affair.

Bucki reported his wife missing April 26. Her body was found last Friday in Taylor County.

Bucki was ordered held Tuesday on $2 million bond.
