LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) -

An additional community warming shelter is now available at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 721 King Street in La Crosse, to help keep people safe from dangerously cold weather conditions.

The church will provide sleeping cots and will remain open all day, if needed, from Thursday, January 23 until Wednesday morning, January 29. No meals are provided at that location.

La Crosse County Emergency Management Coordinator Keith Butler said the additional shelter opened Wednesday night and helped four people.

The Salvation Army, 223 8th Street North, and the La Crosse Warming Center at the First Baptist Church, 1209 Main Street, are also available to help people stay warm.
