LA CROSSE, WI (WKBT) -

A La Crosse County judge set a $250,000 cash bond for a Chicago man accused of shooting a La Crosse woman on June 16.

Cordero Short, 22, has been charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide, use of a dangerous weapon. He was arrested in a suburb of Chicago on November 14.

La Crosse police say Short went to a La Crosse bar to shoot a man, but Short said a woman got in the line of fire and the bullet hit her.

Short’s preliminary hearing is set for Tuesday, November 26.

La Crosse County District Attorney Tim Gruenke said authorities are still investigating other suspects in the case.
