Woman sentenced for drug theft at Iowa hospital
A former nurse in eastern Iowa convicted of stealing prescription drugs has been sentenced to probation.
Rose Hayslett was given a two-year suspended prison sentence and placed under two years of supervised probation. It means she will not serve jail time if she stays out of trouble during that time.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports Hayslett pleaded guilty in January to third-degree theft. She was first arrested in April 2012.
A criminal complaint says Hayslett took medication from a drug-dispensing machine at Mercy Iowa City hospital by falsely entering patient names. Investigators say she took the narcotics for her own use.
