Wisconsin police chief accused of mishandling cases
PALMYRA, Wis. (AP) -- Palmyra's police chief has been fired. Village officials allege the chief mishandled several cases.
Chief Charles Warren is accused of parking his personal truck loaded with nearly 90 confiscated marijuana plants on the grounds of the high school. Officials also say the chief refused to prosecute a school volunteer suspected of exposing himself to third-grade boys several times.
Warren's attorney, Paul Bucher, calls the dismissal racially motivated. Warren is black.
The Journal Sentinel says a retired Milwaukee police detective who lives in Palmyra brought the cases to the attention of the Police Department Committee.
