JANESVILLE, Wis. (AP) -- A Janesville company that makes large components for semitrailer trucks says it plans to hire about 125 production workers in coming months.

Stoughton Trailers LLC says the hires will be spread among its plants in Brodhead, Evansville and Stoughton. The jobs include assembly workers, welders and industrial painters.

A Janesville Gazette report says the increase will bring the company's total employment to about 925 by June. The company already added about 300 workers last year.

Company spokesman Keith Wise says Stoughton's main product is the dry van, which is the box-and-chassis combination that makes up the familiar box-shaped semitrailers.

He says there's been a significant increase in orders. He speculates that shippers who have been keeping their old trailers longer are now being forced to replace them.
